Our Mission
At Breed Science, we are on a mission to optimize canine wellness through custom nutrition. We believe that veterinarians are the key to improving wellness, so we set out to support them with a tool to customize and track fresh food meal plans.
Our Promise
As life-long dog parents, we learned that different breeds have different needs, and their food shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. At Breed Science, we celebrate the diversity of dogs by recognizing what makes each dog special.

Our Story
The Odd Couple
Our founder, Trey is the proud parent of Smush, the English Bulldog and Shark, the Standard Poodle. Smush and Shark are the odd couple - they couldn't be more different from each other. That got Trey thinking about why fresh dog food is one-size-fits-all. He set out to be the change he wanted to see in the world.
An Academic Origin
Earning an MBA at The Wharton School, Trey wrote a white paper about how veterinarians could control the dog bowl to make healthier dogs.
Startup Accelerator
Breed Science was selected to join Wharton's startup accelerator, Venture Lab VIP-X.
